On Wear and Care
We all have those special bras which we went to great trouble finding – they are appropriate, stylish and nice fitting. These are the bras that we want to last and a few simple steps will ensure that the bra wears on longer. To keep its shape and elasticity, you should wash the garment every day. Use a gentle detergent and preferably hand wash. Should you want to wash your bra in a washing machine, always attach hooks and eyes before washing - this prevents garments from getting tangled or snagged on other clothing. You could also place bras in a lingerie bag if machine washing. Never put a bra in the dryer. Instead, hang to dry. Once dry, fold bras in half, cup in cup tucking the straps inside.
On When to Say Goodbye
As a general rule of thumb, if you wear a bra three or four times a week, you’ll need to replace it within six to 12 months. The reason behind this is because supporting elasticity in the bra’s support materials weakens over time. If you notice that your bra is fitting looser or the fabric is starting to peel, it’s probably time to change it.
